“Do I blend or do I juice?” This is a question that we get asked quite frequently at Green E Juice. Juices and smoothies both play a pivotal role in living a healthy lifestyle, but each has specific health benefits, which we will outline for you below.
The great thing about blending is that the smoothies you make consist of the entire fruit and/or vegetable, including the skin, which contains a lot of fiber.
However, blending the fruits & veggies also breaks the fiber apart and creates a slow, even release of nutrients into the bloodstream.
Smoothies are faster to make than juice and are usually on the more filling side because of the inclusion of fiber.
Fruit and vegetable juice (not most of the sugary pre-packaged kinds you find at the grocery store) are packed full of nutrients that heal and restore the body.
By juicing, you are extracting water and nutrients the produce and discarding the indigestible fiber.
This speeds up the process of absorbing nutrients into our bodies and helps make digestion easier.
In the end, juicing and blending are both great aids in living a healthy lifestyle, which is why we include both at our juice bar!
